        Aug 23        Release party for the debut album of EIGHTwentythree.  On this, the fourth anniversary of the guys
                            first playing together, the band will be kicking off the release of what is destined to be a classic
                            Bluegrass album.  More details to follow.

        July 19        John will be appearing at McIntyre's Fine Books in Chapel Hill at 11:00 am.  In addition to reading
                            from the book, John will be joined by EIGHTwentythree and members of the RDU Session Players for
                            this early morning bluegrass show.

        July 18        John will be on The State of Things at 12:00 p.m.  This is a live show where John will be discussing the
                            book, playing music, and talking about the event at McIntyre's the next day.  The State of Things is a
                            live program hosted by Frank Stasio devoted to bringing the issues, personalities, and places of North
                            Carolina to their listeners. They present the Tar Heel experience through sound, story, discussion,
                            commentary and listener participation through calls.

        Jun 5-7       The Carolina Ballet will be hosting John for a book signing at their North Carolina Heritage Festival.

        May 31        EIGHTwentythree will be in concert at the Festival in the Grove.  This wonderful event raises
                            money for Kyle Petty's Victory Junction Gang charity.

        May 17        EIGHTwentythree will be at High Lonesome String's annual Pickin in the Park at 1:30.

        Apr 20        The Red Springs Street Festival will host EIGHTwentythree at their annual event.

        Apr 13        The Gibsonville Public Library will be hosting John this Sunday at 3:00.  John is donating a
                            portion of the proceeds of the sale of his book to the library for the purchase of new books.

        Apr 4,5        John will be returning to UNC Pembroke.  More details to follow.

        Mar 28       EIGHTwentythree will be performing at CPCC Artsfest.

        Jan 19        RDU Session Players 2008 Marathon Jam.  Click on the link to the left for details.

        Jan 17       John will be appearing on WRAL TV with Bill Leslie to promote the book and talk about this year's
                          Marathon Jam.

        Jan 12       The Bob Langford Show on WPTF.  John appeared with Kate Woods and Whit Kenney to play music,
                          and talk about the 2008 Marathon Jam.

        Dec 2         High Lonesome Strings Christmas Party/Potluck supper, 2:00 pm, Greensboro, NC. 

        Oct 26        Market St. Books in Chapel Hill,  8:30 pm - 11:00 pm.  Reading and book signing followed by music.

        Oct 20         Stonefield Cellars Stokesdale, NC - Meet the author at 4:30 pm followed by a potluck at 6:30 and a
                            music jam at 7:00

        Oct 6           Private Party in Fayetteville, NC

        Sept 30        Duke Children's Hospital fundraiser in Durham, NC.

        Sept 29        Borders Books, Greensboro, NC, 7:00 pm.  Meet and Greet with John including a reading and book
                            signing, followed by music.
